The Thin Line

120 Hours Competition

Architecture was created by humans out of the urge to protect themselves from the elements. In course of time the essence of architectures personal conveniences turned into a game of power and representation. In this game the individual was relegated to a secondary role.
Question your space.

By placing a house in an exhibition room, it becomes an object of exposition. It gets detached from its initial architectural function - narrowed to its sculptural asthetics.
The sculpture, a house reduced to its essential elements, surrounded by the ‘thin line’ on the floor symbolizes the segregation between the human and its individual room. A person is encouraged to invade the space. As soon as one interacts with the structure, it becomes functional.
